Getting through a Creative Block
Getting my head into a conceptual and creative space, encouraging experimentation and playfulness in art. Having bought a book called “Creative Block” has helped me tremendously in diving deeper into my own creativity whenever I’m having trouble to create. Let me show you a page in the book and how I got into my creative space because of it.
Task 42: done
Being young, wild and free they say. This comes with prejudices against young adults/people. I’ve experienced this myself from up close. With task 42 in mind, I wanted to do something creative with this matter.
Ever since I was four years old, I've had to deal with back pains and physical therapy. This only grew into more serious issues getting older. Eventually, I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronically fatigue with having chronically stomach- and headache. However, people on the streets and in the train, never seem to be understanding of a young person sitting down. It's always young people having to stand up and giving their seat to an elderly or a pregnant woman. As much as I truly want to be less tired and in less pain, I'm not. As much as I want to be able to be fit and energetic, I'm not. Which means I'm not able to "just and easily" stand up. Just because I'm young, doesn't mean I don't have any physical disabilities myself. "You're young" doesn't mean anything in a case such as this, but for bystanders it holds value. It shouldn't - necessarily.
